He’d visit with us each night and share warm conversation. We ate dinner at the beach restaurant where we were entertained by Kozi the supervisor who sang songs and told funny jokes. My favorite part was the made to order, fresh squeezed juices. The breakfast buffet was extensive and delish. Yes the Maldives is very pricy but most of it was worth every dollar. ![]() The carts were always on time and never an inconvenience-I was very impressed at the system. The resort is vast making it necessary to call for a cart to get around quickly. The room supervisor Ahmed went above and beyond to make sure that we were happy with the room but honestly happy doesn’t quite explain it-we were simply ecstatic. For our birthdays and anniversary, they made a note of it and adorned the bed with flowers and well wishes - we felt incredibly special and well taken care of. The wonderful amenities (Salvatore Ferragamo) swaddled us and were the best I ever had in a resort. Then the next day we upgraded to a retreat spa villa which was simply out of this world! Gorgeous views encompassed us. He facilitated the checkin which was done with ease then checked us into a superior villa which was just delightful-it was everything we thought it would be and more. When we landed, the team awaited our arrival with cool drinks, cold towels and warm smiles. His initial arrangements were flawless and a great indication of what was to come. In preparation for the stay, I had been in contact with representative Adam Areef to ensure that my visit was well planned. Upon arrival to Male, we were shuttled to the Conrad lounge, given snacks, able to freshen up then boarded the seaplane and flew 45 minutes to Rangali Island. WOW!! Is the best way to start this review. We were satisfied with our time there, but personally feel there are other comparable experiences in the Maldives for a fraction of the overall price. I understand that staff are not responsible for the behaviour of other guests, however, a discreet reminder that there are others about may not have gone astray. On the three occasions we chose to eat there, children were running around yelling at each other and one couple decided to have a loud and heated argument. There was a 'quite zone' on the attached isle where meals could also be had. Something we didn't mind, but other guests commented upon the walk. We could have availed ourselves of a buggy to collect us, and did on one occasion, however, the 20 minute wait for it to arrive had us walking each time. It is well set out for privacy, however, it would take us 20 minutes to walk from our room to where the meals were being served. The resort setting is amazing, it has some of the most beautiful water I have seen with incredible blues that my camera couldn't do justice. ![]() Sometimes we just wanted to have a meal and move on. The staff were fabulous and accommodating, however, sometimes they seemed a little intrusive with persistent questions about our stay and how we were faring. It was a set menu and again, was another hand in pocket experience. We ate in the underwater restaurant, and whilst it was a great experience, the room was hot and stuffy and there seemed to be quite a few scratches on the glass. ![]() I do know that some resorts at the Maldives, of similar calibre, offer snorkelling trips for free each day. All the excursions such as the trip to see a whale shark, snorkelling etc were added extras, and whilst worthwhile were quite expensive. We even had to pay for water at meal times in the buffet. These included cocktails that were overpriced with very little alcohol content. We had breakfast and buffet meals included in our tariff, however, we still managed to nearly double our tarriff price with the 'extras'. The rooms were clean, unfortunately, the windows were not! And whilst I understand that it is an 'ocean' frontage, and there was some rain during our stay, it was obvious they hadn't been cleaned for some time based on the salt and grime build up. The lights were not functioning during our stay in the outside area, although we did mention this quite early upon our arrival. There was a hot tub on the outside balcony, however, there were quite a few gaps with the configuration of this area and it was a lawsuit waiting ot happen in my opinion. The water was crystal clear and we were able to snorkel in somewhat rough water outside our room. The only added feature was the attached private spa room where we were able to enjoy private massages and therapies in our room. The room was spacious and comparable to other over the water rooms we have stayed in at other destinations. We had an over the water spa room and it was beautiful. ![]() This was our fourth trip to the Maldives and we thought we would give the Conrad a go.
